Meet the Staff

Dr. David Oosting is a second-generation optometrist who came back to his hometown to carry on his father's legacy. His daughter is also an optometrist, currently practicing in the Salt Lake City area. A graduate of Indiana University, he has been in practice since 1975, specializing in eye care tailored to the specific needs of his patients. He has been an adjunct Clinical Professor at the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University for the past 12 years. Dr. Dave and wife Barbara are members of Church of the Living Christ in Fremont and have led eye mission trips to the island of St. Lucia for 10 years, bringing much-needed vision care through an organization known as Volunteer Optometrists in Service to Humanity (VOSH). Say 'hi' to Pat Wight. Pat is one of our front desk staff who will help you with your registration and history forms as we start the welcoming process. She can answer most of your insurance questions since she is our primary insurance biller. In her spare time, she likes to scrapbook or visit Shipshewana with her husband (bless his heart).

Sharon Triplett is our award-winning resident visual artist/window display designer, as well as managing our recall system. She always has a ready smile and, despite working for an Indiana University graduate (Dr. Dave) she bleeds 'maize and blue.'

Here's Barbara Oosting with one of her quilt projects which are on display in our office. She works at the front desk to help out a couple of days a week, and she's always happy to talk with people about her quilts. Even if you don't need our eye care help right now, stop in to see her handiwork!
